With spring cleaning right around the corner, the public begins to stock up on household cleaning supplies. Shoppers fill their carts with spray bottle cleaners to keep up with constant messes. What’s worse is that only weeks later all of those empty bottles are thrown in the trash and the cycle begins again. Not only is this harmful to the environment, but it also puts stress on your bank account with all the extra money spent. If this sounds like your life, then these two new packaging innovations in household cleaners are the answers to your problems!

Recently founded company, Replenish Bottling Company, has created a product that will make you “rethink the bottle.” Did you know that those giant household cleaning bottles can contain only about 5% actual cleaning solution and are 95% water? That means we are paying $4-5 for a spray bottle of water? Replenish, this company’s eco- friendly cleaner, is sold as an empty bottle with a 4 oz removable pod attached to the bottom. To use the product, you flip the bottle upside down, squeeze the pod to fill with liquid from the pot, and fill the rest of the bottle with water. When you press the spray bottle trigger, the two substances mix together to form the same diluted mixture found in retail cleaning products. You will be saving on the amount of cleaner you need to buy, and the eco- friendly bottle is reusable.

IQ by Planet People is another new product similar to Replenish except it uses recyclable cartridges instead of liquid cleaner. To use the product, you again fill the bottle with water, insert the cartridge and twist on the spray top. When the spray top is locked in place, the cleaning solution from the cartridge is released into the water to create the diluted cleaning solution.
