COPY POSITION

COPY POSITION, ALSO KNOWN AS UNWIND POSITION, REFERS TO THE DIRECTION COPY AND ARTWORK ARE PRINTED ON A ROLL OF LABELS.

 

For hand-applied labels, copy position usually doesn't matter. But for any machine-applied labels, having the correct copy position is essential. Without the right position, your labels could be applied to your product upside down or backwards!

So how do you determine what copy position you need? Most equipment has a specified copied position. Check with your production team if your company is doing its own labeling. If you use a contract packager or private label manufacturer, reach out to them–they should have the specifications.
