There is nothing better than an ice-cold popsicle on a hot summer’s day. Crooked Stick Pops originates in Easthampton Massachusetts but travel all over the Western Mass region to deliver their frozen treats to eager customers. They’ve even branched out to neighboring states, such as New York and Vermont, due to high demand! So why is demand so high for this small popsicle company and what is their secret? “Popmaster” and owner, Julie Tuman, found immense joy from concocting delicious creations in her kitchen and watching faces light up when consumed. She wanted to share her creations with the public, however in a fashion that broke the mold. 

With Western Mass filled with established restaurants, bakeries and breweries, a shop that sold specialty ice pops was her ticket. Fast forward six years ahead and our friends, Crooked Stick Pops, is the talk of the town. Using locally sourced, fresh and healthy ingredients, Julie has put thousands of smiles on customers faces. Crooked Stick Pops can be found at festivals, farmers markets, requested at weddings or corporate venues, and even delivered straight to your door. Their bright packaging and lettering easily distinguishes their flavors and yes, each one of their popsicle’s sticks are crooked!

Summer never disappoints with its warm, often humid, bright days. The majority of adults have found a way to beat the summer heat: ice-cold beer. It’s no surprise the beer industry and local breweries pick up when temperatures are on the rise. Customers always look forward to see what new summer-time releases breweries have in store as well as when annual favorites come back around. Dion has been fortunate enough to partner with award-winning Back East Brewing, a local craft brewery located right outside Hartford Connecticut. As we watched their unique labels roll off our presses for the first time, we knew we had a special partner. Founded in 2012 by cousins Tony karlowicz and Edward Fabrycki Jr., their drive and passion to brew high quality beer gave birth to Back East Brewing. With endless recipe ideas and dreams to share their hard work with the public, Tony and Edward are notable brewers on the New England beer scene. Each one of their craft beers is brewed in their state-of-the-art brewery, producing creative and out-of-the-box beers. A few of their brews that our own Dion team look forward to sipping this summer is their Double Scoop IPA, Gelato Girl Piña Colada and of course the magical, Unicorn Farm IPA. 

What would summer be without the need to protect and keep our bodies in tip-top condition to fight those summer rays.
