Labels We Love: JBN

JBN Truth in Labeling Seal

Since 1981, JBN has been family owned and operated from their headquarters in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, providing health supplements based on their guiding philosophy of “Truth in Labeling.” Their products are manufactured with the highest quality with clearly labeled ingredients and a printed “born date” to guarantee freshness to their customers. JBN offers a wide variety of health and wellness products, including protein, vitamins, and other diet and exercise supplements.


The Dion team has been working with JBN since 2016, and we spoke with their lead graphic designer Jeff about their experience with us. Jeff is responsible for label art creation at JBN, and he works closely with our team on all their label orders. He is in regular contact with the Dion team, discussing label solutions for new products as well as reviewing and approving artwork proofs. 


We asked him about any design challenges he’s faced that Dion has helped resolved. He said, “because our product lines come in all shapes and sizes, our label needs frequently need to follow suit. Dion has always been helpful when it comes to accommodating a nontraditionally sized label.” Dion has an entire art department that works diligently to make sure the design goals of our partners are always met. JBN’s extensive line of products are all outstanding, and their labels are gorgeous as well. We put the showcase on a few of their product labels below.

For many JBN products, we print on a silver base with a matte coating. Product names are printed in a bold font, usually white in color, front and center, allowing for easy identification. The underlying silver material shines through a mostly black background, drawing the eye to the product on the shelf, and the matte finish keeps the bright lights of stores from creating a glare on the label. The silver base also allows JBN to showcase a variety of metallic colors that match with their many flavors and product options. 


There are several gold elements on the label that stand out against the black background, including graphics and data points specific to each product; at a glance these elements enable you to know key health information like calories and carbs without having to turn the product over and read the small print of the supplement facts.

The BUFF Whey Protein label, on the other hand, is printed on clear film with a gloss coating, which enables the consumer to view the powder through the label. The brand colors, font, and silver elements prevalent in many of their other products are still on display, of course, so while this product is visually still much in keeping with the rest of their product lines, the clear option adds a little extra flair.


With the growing popularity of supplements, JBN’s labels catch the eye of the health-conscious consumer with their metallic elements and large fonts. But our partnership with JBN extends beyond providing impeccable printing to emphasize their unique design. We asked Jeff about his experience working with Dion, and he stated: “Our experience with Dion has been overwhelmingly positive. Parent Company Inovar Continues Growing: New Headquarters in Dallas, TX

As part of Inovar Packaging Group, Dion Label Printing is working to creating a world-class enterprise by building an innovative platform to drive sustainable growth and handle the increasingly complex demands of our diverse range of customers. Over the last several years, our parent company Inovar has acquired new facilities at a quick pace, including, most recently: Cimarron Label in Sioux Falls, SD and Amherst Label in Milford, NH. Acquiring is a major part of Inovar’s strategy to grow the company and better serve our customers and our internal teams, and we are concurrently working to expand our capacity, capabilities, and service offerings in other ways. To that end Inovar has recently moved into a newly renovated headquarters building in Dallas, TX. Located just a short distance from Inovar’s previous facility headquarters, the new location was built to showcase the mission of our brand. At triple the size of the last facility, this brand new building with its huge increase in both office and production space will enable us to provide even more solutions and support to our customers. The new facility is not just larger, however. In order to increase our capacity, capabilities, and offerings, and give our customers the highest quality labels and packaging solutions, we’ve added two new flexographic presses and a new digital press. Our Director of Marketing, Ashley Stewart, states, “the additional capacity, services, and embellishment capabilities will greatly increase our ability to meet all the requirements of even the most demanding brands. The team is thrilled to debut the new facility and showcase our capabilities to our existing and future customers.”  We also have other expansions in the works. An addition of almost 20,000 additional square feet of production and warehousing space will expand Inovar’s Milwaukee, WI, location, Flexo-Graphics, and its presence in the area.
