Beyond Traditional Labels: Specialty Applications To Fulfill Your Packaging Needs

How do you pick the right type of packaging for your product? When you think of the word “label,” do you see beyond printed paper affixed to a product? If not, we’re here to tell you about the specialty application options we offer here at Dion. Here is a brief rundown of some of our most popular options other than traditional labels.

Shrink Sleeve supplement labels
SHRINK SLEEVES

Whether you’re a craft beer brewer, in the OTC pharmaceutical industry, or anything in between, shrink sleeves are becoming an increasingly popular labeling option, and it’s no surprise! Shrink sleeves are 360-degree printed pieces of film that shrink with heat or steam to fit around various shaped containers. They eliminate blank space, making your brand’s art and name not only take center stage but take the whole stage.

When it comes to showing off your design, with shrink sleeves there is no negative space on your product’s container, and your design is not marred by any gap. Shrink sleeves are a superb option if you have uniquely shaped packaging as they allow the shape of your packaging to shine, hugging the contours in a way that a traditional label may not be able to. What’s more, they can offer a simple way to add tamper resistance or provide customers with a convenient multi-pack of your product. You can find more information on shrink sleeves here.

FLEXIBLE PACKAGING

Flexible packaging offers a great opportunity to simplify things for your customers. Sometimes referred to as pouches, packets, sachets, and stick packs, flexible packaging can make it incredibly easy for your customers to make sure they are getting the appropriate amount of your product. Providing buyers with a single-serve option can give them the added incentive they need to make the jump to your brand.

Similarly, sample or trial packets can provide your brand with the ability to reach the widest possible client base. While buyers may not be willing to shell out the entire cost for a new type of food, health and beauty, or supplement item, they are much more inclined to give your product a try if it comes in a convenient sample packet. Read more here.

Extended Content Labels
OTC pharmaceutical pill bottle with ECL

Extended Content Labels, also known as ECLs and Expanded Content Labels, are extremely effective tools for companies from many industries and for a variety of product types.

While traditional labels are printed on one side of a piece of material, ECLs give you more space for product information like ingredients and instructions and can free space up on the front of your label for branding and essential product information. We offer several different types of ECLs that provide different amounts of extra space for printed information. Check out this blog that will help you select the ECL that is right for your brand and product.

We also have specialty stocks for labels and offer cold temperature and water-resistant adhesives for products that require refrigeration. Outside of these specific types of specialty labels, we offer a vast number of high-decoration options. Our base stock options include semigloss paper, films, Kraft paper, a variety of textured papers, and so much more. We offer metallics simulated in any color, Cast & Cure™, cold foil application, and hot stamping for a three-dimensional textured effect as well.

Our quality and service are points of pride for us. That’s why we work with every one of our customers on an individual basis to customize a label and packaging solution to their specific needs. From traditional labels to our specialty products, you can count on on-brand, functional, and high-quality print products from Dion Label Printing.

Whatever your industry or product, we’re here with a wide array of packaging options to help set your brand apart! Reach out to one of our label specialists today to find out how we can customize a specialty application to suit your needs!

Designing a label can be an involved process; logos, fonts, layout, material, and finish all must be taken into account. Then there’s the product-specific copy and information to include. It’s easy to get hung up on any or all of these things, but don’t forget to consider the importance of color selection While you may be choosing your colors based on your product or on your own color preference, you always want to make sure your colors are communicating the right thing to potential customers.

As part of Inovar Packaging Group, Dion Label Printing is working to creating a world-class enterprise by building an innovative platform to drive sustainable growth and handle the increasingly complex demands of our diverse range of customers. Over the last several years, our parent company Inovar has acquired new facilities at a quick pace, including, most recently: Cimarron Label in Sioux Falls, SD and Amherst Label in Milford, NH. Acquiring is a major part of Inovar’s strategy to grow the company and better serve our customers and our internal teams, and we are concurrently working to expand our capacity, capabilities, and service offerings in other ways. To that end Inovar has recently moved into a newly renovated headquarters building in Dallas, TX. Located just a short distance from Inovar’s previous facility headquarters, the new location was built to showcase the mission of our brand. At triple the size of the last facility, this brand new building with its huge increase in both office and production space will enable us to provide even more solutions and support to our customers. The new facility is not just larger, however. In order to increase our capacity, capabilities, and offerings, and give our customers the highest quality labels and packaging solutions, we’ve added two new flexographic presses and a new digital press. Our Director of Marketing, Ashley Stewart, states, “the additional capacity, services, and embellishment capabilities will greatly increase our ability to meet all the requirements of even the most demanding brands. The team is thrilled to debut the new facility and showcase our capabilities to our existing and future customers.” We also have other expansions in the works. An addition of almost 20,000 additional square feet of production and warehousing space will expand Inovar’s Milwaukee, WI, location, Flexo-Graphics, and its presence in the area. We are excited for the opportunities our growth provides us to continue our rise as a premier label and packaging solution provider. Contact us today and let our growth help fuel yours.
