As primary writer for our blog and Digital Marketing Specialist, Gina Lisella is an essential member of our team. Gina has been with Dion for over 4 years and has made major contributions to the growth and prosperity of Dion. Along with writing content for our blog she also handles our email marketing, manages our website and tracks marketing analytics.

Gina began her journey with Dion as the Marketing Assistant responsible for coordinating mailings, organizing, cutting samples and other somewhat repetitive office tasks. While she excelled in her role, it was obvious there was a lot of untapped potential for Gina to grow and excel with her experience in digital marketing. Gina mentioned, “I’m one of those strange people who finds huge satisfaction in undertakings that others might consider mind-numbingly mundane.”

Gina commented that she loves her job because of the team she works with (we love her too!) and the way her position allows her to use both the analytical and creative parts of her personality. When asked what her proudest moment was working at Dion she noted, “In 2020 the marketing team and I began overhauling our website to make it more modern, sleek, and user-friendly. It was a ton of work and took much longer than I’d anticipated (not going live until June 2021) but I’m so happy with the final product!"

Outside of work, Gina enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, hiking, listening to music and playing with her new baby girl.

Here are five facts about Gina that we love:

1. She is a voracious reader; in fact, a big reason why she bought her current house was because it has an incredible library to keep her thousands of books.
2. Her other main hobby is gardening. She grows tons of veggies and flowers and starts just about everything from seed in a makeshift “greenhouse” in her mud room.
3. She welcomed her first baby in July 2021. Her name is Sadie Parton (namesake of the great Dolly!), and she is an absolute joy for Gina. She loves being a mother and she notes “these months with her have been wonderful beyond my ability to describe.”
4. She has two guilty pleasures: true crime podcasts and anything Justin Timberlake does (as a 90s kid who grew up in the era of boy bands and Spice Girls, she believes her love for JT is totally reasonable!)
5. She almost always has various cut flowers spread around her home.

Gina’s personal philosophy is “there is beauty all around us if we take a moment to stop and be mindful of it” and she advises others in her profession to “try to find a little joy in what you do, even, and maybe especially, on the hard days.” In an industry and department that sees constant change, we commend Gina on her positive attitude and ability to work through the challenges that she always conquers.
