Our Digital Production Manager, Rich Butcher, has been with Dion Label Printing for an incredible 32 years. As those years have passed, not only has our company grown tremendously, but our digital printing department has expanded at pace. Rich has been an integral part of keeping our digital print environment up-to-date and functional.
Rich has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Media Studies from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY and a Master of Arts in Integrated Marketing and Communications from Emerson College in Boston, MA. He is responsible for managing our Digital Production team and ensuring customer orders are completed correctly, efficiently and on time. More than that, he is a mentor to many in the company and possesses a vast store of knowledge about everything digital print related (and many other topics as well!) He was originally drawn to Dion by the opportunity to work in Western MA to be closer to friends and family, and it’s the people he works with that he loves most about his job.
Outside of work, Rich frequently travels to visit his sons, hikes/kayaks in Vermont, and goes to the beach. He also enjoys attending sporting events, spending time with family and friends, and working in the yard.
Here are five facts about Rich that we love:
1. He will work for chocolate chip cookies.
2. He was a teacher at the local vocational high school.
3. The weekend after he met his wife he had a meeting scheduled to explore the possibility of becoming a Roman Catholic priest.
4. He and his wife have been married for 23 years, have three boys, two dogs, and ten chickens.
5. He bleeds Syracuse Orange.
Rich’s personal philosophy is “listen more than you speak” and he advises others in his profession that “it takes zero talent to hustle.” Both of these statements are reflected in his management style which endears him to his employees and keeps our Digital Production department running beautifully!
